FASANO Rio de Janeiro
HOTEL / RESTAURANT
Hotel Fasano Rio de Janeiro, the second hotel of the Fasano Group, is the result of Rogério Fasano's dream of bringing the centennial legacy of the Fasano family of unconditional dedication to service quality and impeccable gastronomy to the most privileged location in Rio de Janeiro, one of the most beautiful cities in the world.
Located on Avenida Vieira Souto, in the heart of Ipanema beach, Hotel Fasano Rio de Janeiro combines the sophistication of the most coveted address of Rio with modernity and efficiency in design and service. The hotel is the first project entirely designed by Philippe Starck in Brazil. From the furnishings of the 50s and 60s to the vintage uniforms exclusively developed for the hotel, everything was designed to recreate the atmosphere of the glorious era of Bossa Nova, when Ipanema flourished as the most charming neighborhood of Rio de Janeiro.
The decor of the rooms and suites are a perfect match from the aesthetic views of Philippe Starck and Rogério Fasano. Organic materials are the stars of the concept and, in daring and sometimes unusual combinations, forge the peculiar identity of the Hotel Fasano Rio de Janeiro. The variety of materials comes from various parts of the world: white marble from Greece, Chinese yellow onyx, northern ironwood from Brazil. Signed pieces did not escape the eyes of the two visionaries: from the Brazilian Sérgio Rodrigues, present in the Voltaire armchairs, the Mocho and Sônia benches, and the Diz chair, to the Italians Gaetano Pesce, author of the iconic Big Mamma armchair that adorns the hall of every floor, and Carlo Mollino, like the Gilda and Ardea armchairs, as well as other pieces from the famous Zanotta Studio, in Italy. Pieces signed by Philippe Starck himself are also part of the décor, such as the collection of mirrors "L'oreille qui voit", present in various environments, from the rooms to the pool.
The view from the eighth floor is a completely unique experience. The infinity pool, located on the terrace of the Hotel Fasano Rio de Janeiro, offers an unparalleled view of the beaches of Arpoador, Ipanema and Leblon, framed by the Two Brothers Hill, from a point of view never before seen that even includes the Corcovado in another tip. Many guests "forget" the beach when they are up there and end up spending all day between the pool, the sauna and the pool bar. One of the walls, adorned with a montage of the ear-shaped mirrors designed by Philippe Starck, allows guests to enjoy the blue shades of the sky and the sea even if they do not face them from the front.
